“Texture-Rich, Jolly Designs.”
Almanaque is a London-based footwear brand producing designs rich in texture with a modern flavor. All products are hand crafted in Portugal with a focus on traditional leather craft, contrasted against modern silhouettes and fresh color palettes. We spoke with the team to discover more about what makes these quirky shoe-makers tick, and where they see the brand going in the future.
Storey: Who are the founders behind Almanaque and what inspired it?
Almanaque: Launched by Charlotte Staniland (previously Tom Ford, Kate Spade & Erdem) Almanaque focuses on designing uniquely crafted yet super-wearable footwear with the dynamic lifestyle of the modern woman front of mind. At the heart of the design process is a desire to produce seriously good quality footwear manufactured in an ethical and conscious manner.
Who is your ideal customer? We saw Emma Roberts was wearing your slides on your Instagram!
Someone looking to invest in fashion that lasts a lifetime, I'm proud that the styling and look of our products is timeless and want our wearer to carry this.
They are such versatile pieces, but what is the best way to style your shoes?
Mix and match and be daring, we love to see different materials, prints and textures come together to make a rich styling combination.
Where do you see the brand in 10 years?
Expanded just enough to sustain a comfortable living for our team, whilst continuing to create beautiful products alongside using the latest material innovations and environmental best practice.
And will the brand be sticking solely to slides, or do you have plans for other styles in mind?
We are actually excited to introduce a whole new collection in 2022, which will take us into some new directions, so stay tuned!
We can’t wait!
