How to Add Wardrobe Items

Here is how to get started with Storey…

We make it super easy to add items from your physical closet to your digital wardrobe. Get started with one of the easy ways below, or try them all and see which is your favorite.

FWD Email Shopping Receipts + Product Links

Simply FWD order confirmation or receipt emails from your inbox to receipts@storeytheapp.com

  1. Go to your inbox and search for "order confirmation"
    (click here if using Gmail on desktop)

  2. Select all the relevant emails you want to send to Storey

  3. Click 'Forward as attachment'

  4. Send to 'receipts@storeytheapp.com

Helpful Tips

  • We recommend sending in at least 10-15 old receipts,

  • Set up automatic forwarding so we'll automatically get any new receipts that come to your inbox!

  • We will email you again once your item(s) have been uploaded to your Storey wardrobe. This usually takes under 24 hours (but in busy periods can take longer).

  • Receipts received on weekends will be processed the following Monday.

  • Please note your items are automatically uploaded as 'Public', which means other members can view them. Please let us know if you'd prefer this turned off.

  • We are only able to process order confirmations that contain a photo of your item, along with an item description. This is how we get the data to create the automated listings. Without a photo, there is no way of verifying whether we are uploading the correct item for you.

  • We are only able to process order confirmations for online apparel and fashion accessories purchases.

  • Setup rules from your desktop to bulk-select old receipts and send them all at once (Open an order confirmation or receipt email from an online retailer that you shop at frequently | Tap "More" | Click on 'Filter messages like this'| Setup to send to receipts@storeytheapp.com)

  • You can also skip the inbox and email us a link to your products directly! Simply find your item online, copy the URL and paste it into an email. Then, send to receipts@storeytheapp.com

Add Historical/Legacy Items from Camera Roll

If you want to add an item you've owned forever, simply take a photo, save one to your camera roll, or choose an existing image from your camera roll.

Open Storey then:

  1. Tap the "+” from Wardrobe

  2. Choose Add Item

  3. Allow Camera Access

  4. Take a photo or add an existing photo

  5. Add Item Info

  6. Save!

Save Items While Shopping Online

Love using Google Chrome to shop the web? 🛍️

Our Chrome Extension identifies items in your checkout cart and asks if you want to import them to your Storey digital wardrobe.

  1. Shop online as you normally do

  2. Storey recognizes when you get to a checkout page

  3. Storey then asks if you'd like to send the items from your cart to your Storey wardrobe

Import Items via Gmail (beta)

Gmail users, open Storey and connect your inbox!

  1. Go to the 'Profile' tab in Storey

  2. Tap 'Connect with Gmail' and follow the steps

  3. Head to Your Wardrobe and tap the + icon

  4. Choose 'Import items from Gmail'

  5. Select the items you wish to add

*Please note our Gmail integration is still in its Beta version and can only detect purchased items from a limited list of retailers. We hope to expand this feature soon. Learn more and provide feedback here!
