Fashion Revolution Week 19 - 25th April 2021

Get involved this week as we come together as a global community to create a better fashion industry.

Fashion Revolution Week happens every year in the week surrounding 24th April - the anniversary of the Rana Factory Disaster, the day in 2013 when 1,134 people died and 2,500 were injured after a building that housed several garment factories collapsed in Bangladesh. Most of the victims were young women.

Fashion Revolution is a collective of fashion industry workers and fashion lovers with a shared vision: to create an industry that conserves and restores the environment and values people over growth and profit. Like Storey, it was founded on the belief that the fashion industry in its current form takes too much from nature.

We know how much these issues matter to our Storey community, so we’ve put together a list of how you can make a difference and get involved this week:

  1. Tell us the story behind your most loved item. Loved clothes last, so to celebrate this year’s Fashion Revolution Week we’re asking you to dive into your wardrobe apps and share the stories behind your most loved items of clothing.

  2. Ask brands #whomademyclothes? Use this Fashion Revolution template to send an email to your favorite brands, tweet companies directly, or leave a product review asking who made your clothes. FR have even made available a spreadsheet that lists the Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram names of all the major brands.

  3. Post a selfie. Download this poster from the Fashion Revolution website and hold it up in a selfie.

  4. Read a ‘Get Involved’ pack. Download a guide for citizens on how to take part and make a difference. You can also download digital campaign assets that you can use to spread the word and get people interested.

  5. Follow Fashion Revolution. Connect on social media and sign up to their newsletter to join the conversation and stay in the know.

Now get out there and spread the word!
