Create Your Spring Capsule Wardrobe

Capsule Wardrobe Flat Lay

Spring has sprung and it feels like the right time for positive vibes and some clear-headed decision making.

As we shake away the cobwebs, we’re using our digital wardrobe app to get our wardrobes working hard - for us, and for the planet.

We’ve said it before - a capsule wardrobe shouldn’t be temporary or disposable. It should work for you time and time again, for as long as you need it. So we’ve kept it short and sweet and put this list of spring essentials together with an emphasis on the pieces that never get old.

1. The Trench

What else could go at the top of this list? You can’t go wrong here. Whether you opt for the classic or a variation on the theme, a trench coat turns any ensemble into an iconic spring look.

2. The Blazer

For a smooth transition from day to evening. Not too hot, not too cold. Not too smart, not too casual.

3. The Flowy Dress

Mid or ankle length. This season is about floral prints and puff-sleeves. Style with tights and boots while there’s still a chill in the air.

4. The You-Do-You Jeans

To our utter joy, recent years have heralded the return of the full denim spectrum - from mom cut, through straight and boot, to flared. You just pick whatever makes you feel amazing.

5. The Simple Sneaker

Whether it’s a canvas shoe or sportier sneaker, you need something comfortable that goes with everything. Opt for white or beige.

6. The White Shirt

Classic. Embroidered. Puff sleeves. Oversized collar… It doesn’t matter how far you stray from the original, a white shirt works for almost any occasion.

7. The Spring Knit

Pack away your oversized winter knits and choose something thinner and lighter to add a layer to your outfits.

8. The Sandal

No, it’s not too soon. Heeled or flat, chunky or strappy - sandals signal the undisputed end of winter.

This season is going to be about love, optimism, and enjoying the warmth of the sun on your face. We’re feeling good about it. Download the Storey digital wardrobe app to buy or sell, and to check out how others are building their spring looks.
